Changes in 18th Amendment must be discussed with open heart: Asad Umar

Ruling out possibility of minus-one formula, the minister said the PTI could be ousted through minus-one but in presence of PTI’s majority, no one could oust Imran Khan under any minus formula because 99 percent vote bank belonged to him.

“The 18th Amendment and NFC Award should be reflective of each other as responsibilities should be assigned in accordance with resources share. Both the 18th Amendment and NFC Award should be discussed at national level with open heart,” Asad Umar said in an exclusive interview with The News.

The minister said that the gaps existed in coordination and it was realised after the NCOC meetings. He said if there is no proper coordination about exact health facilities then how the planning could be done to tackle COVID-19 pandemic.

A new Batman spinoff about Gotham City is in the works

The Batman universe is expanding, with a TV series set in Gotham City's police department that will explore corruption, streaming platform HBO Max said on Friday. HBO Max said the original drama series would be produced by Matt Reeves, director of the upcoming Warner Bros. movie  The Batman  that stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader with no special superpowers. The meeting was co-chaired by National Command and Operation Centre

In the first meeting of its kind held at CM House, which was hosted by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and chaired by federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar, the policy of all the provinces, future strategy to contain the virus and standard operating procedures during the Eid were discussed. The meeting was co-chaired by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) National Coordinator Lt Gen Hamood-uz-Zaman and attended, among others, by Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho and Education Minister Saeed Ghani. The chief secretaries of three other provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan also attended the meeting through video link and shared the situation amid challenges of coronavirus pandemic and progress made in its curtailment in their respective provinces.
